What lease terms do you offer?
Mikros offers 12-month leases. While most leases will begin August 1, we are open to considering lease commencement dates throughout the year, as well as offering short-term leases on a case-by-case basis. Inquire with management.
How do I apply to live at Mikros?
You must complete an online application and pay a $35 application fee. Once your application is approved and space is available, Mikros will send you leasing material. The lease paperwork must be returned by the deadline given in order to guarantee your housing. Mikros management may notify you that your housing offer in cancelled and re-offer the apartment to another applicant if lease material is not submitted by the deadline.
Is there an application fee?
Yes. A $35 application fee is due when your application is submitted online.
What deposits are required?
A deposit equal to one-month’s rent is required in order to reserve an apartment. Deposits will be refunded after final inspections are completed with no damage to the apartment or furnishings.
If the applicant is under the age of 25, an approved Guarantor is also required in order to reserve an apartment. If tenant fails to make payments on the apartment, the Guarantor will be responsible to provide those payments. A guarantor must meet the following criteria: be 27 years of age or older, provide a US Social Security number, have good credit standing with a 600+ credit score, and gross 3 times the rental amount monthly.
For international students, a deposit equal to two month’s rent is required in order to reserve an apartment. One shall be utilized as a security deposit; the second shall be used to cover the last month’s rent.
Is Renter’s Insurance Required?
Yes, renter’s insurance is required. Renter’s insurance is a policy you can purchase to protect your personal property, as the management/landlord is not responsible in any event for replacement of tenant’s personal property. When personal belongings are damaged or stolen, your policy contents coverage would reimburse you up to your policy terms and limits. Liability coverage protects you in the event of negligent damage that you may cause to the property of others, including apartment property. It also protects you in the event of bodily injury to others.
When is Rent Due?
Rent is due on the 1st of each month. Online rental payments through the resident portal are available once the tenant has moved in and the set-up information has been supplied to the resident from the office staff.
All first month rent payments and/or deposits must be in the form of a bank check, money order or bank wire.
How many people can live in the unit?
Due to the compact nature of the units, only one tenant per unit is permitted.
Can I use my financial aid to pay my rent?
If a resident has documentation of an overage in their financial aid, they may defer some or all their rent in anticipation of that refund. Details about deferring part of the rent payment in anticipation of a financial aid refund will be provided prior to your move-in.
For undergraduate students, living off campus will change the budget used to calculate your financial aid package. If you are receiving any grant money in your package, living off campus could affect the amount you receive. Check with the Office of Financial Aid before requesting a release. Financial aid for graduate students living off campus should not be affected.
Is financial assistance offered?

Is there parking available?
Yes! Mikros is one of the few apartments in the area that provides guaranteed, dedicated, parking to its residents. Each resident can use one on-site parking space behind the building. And it’s free!
What type of security is in place?
The front entrance will always stay locked and has a security camera. There is a keypad at the front entrance and each tenant has his or her own security code.
Delivery companies (e.g., Amazon, UPS, USPS, etc.) will be assigned their own code for their drivers to access the building for purposes of delivering packages. There is a special package delivery room where packages will be placed.
MIkros is located within the jurisdiction of 3 police departments – University Circle, Case Western, and Cleveland Police Department.
What if I need something fixed in my apartment?

We love our furry friends, but due to the compact nature of this community, no pets are allowed.
